June 6....In an effort to bring consistency in the use of logos and spirit marks Cheyney University unveiled its new spirit marks today. The new mark is the word “Cheyney” spelled out.

“It’s amazing how many people still refer to us as “Cheyney State,” stated Athletic Director China Jude. Cheyney State has a rich and successful tradition but we want to embrace the name that the University and the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) has approved and continue the tradition under the new name that was approved 20 years ago.

"The "Wolf" mascot is the most challenging but yet exciting process of the logo. We will involve the entire university community to get their feedback but for now the new spirit marks will replace the letter "C" that was previously used.
