Lakers Top Wolves

January 3…..Mercyhust (9-2) defeated Cheyney (5-4) 68-67.  Mercyhurst’s Jason Snow hit one of two free throws with 13 seconds remaining to break a 67 tie the tenth time of the contest that the score was even.  A Kevin Presbery three pointer as the clock expired was off the mark. 

Cheyney’s Sharif Bray gave the Wolves a 67-61 after sinking a pair of foul shots.  However, the Lakers scored the final seven points of the game. 

Sharif Bray led Cheyney with 19 points.  Tamir Smith added 12 while Kevin Presbery netted 10 points in defeat. 

The Lakers jumped out to a 12-2 lead.  However, the Wolves battled back to take their first lead of the game 22-21 at the 9:31 mark of the first half on a Presbery jumper.  In the second half, Cheyney built up an eight point lead 65-57 with 2:05 remaining. 

Cheyney will host Alderson Broaddus on Wednesday afternoon.  Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m.
