January 16…….Mansfield (11-4:1-1) defeated Cheyney (7-7:1-1) 81-72 in a PSAC East basketball contest.  Sharif Bray paced the Wolves with 17 points.  Kevin Presbery added 16 points and 8 rebounds. 

With the game tied at 22, Mansfield went on a 10-0 run to take a 32-22 lead with 3:00 minutes remaining in the first half.  The Wolves cut the lead to six at intermission. 

A 17-4 run early in the second half gave the Mounties a 55-36 lead with 14:11 to play.  Mansfield was able to extend the lead to 25 points with just over 7 minutes to play.  However, an 18-1 run by the Wolves cut the lead to eight with 3:51 remaining.  After a Presbery lay-up with :35 seconds remaining cut the lead to four, the Mounties converted 5-6 free throws to preserve the victory.

The game was arguably decided on the foul line where Mansfield was 23-35.  Cheyney only went to the charity stripe 15 times converted 14 of them. 

Cheyney will play at West Chester on Wednesday night.  Tip-off is slated for 5:30 pm.
