January 22……For the third time this indoor season the Cheyney track teams raced the oval at Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA.  The men scored 50 points finishing in fourth place out of 13 teams.  The women finished eighth out of 14.   

Cheyney’s top finishers included Lorraine Laster.  The senior posted a 1:00.41 in 400 meters to earn second place.  Team mate Izzy Cayo finished fourth in the same event in a time of 1:01.04; a personal best.  In the 4 x 200 relay Cayo and Laster teamed up with Glennisha Campbell and Princess Chase to post a 1:50.99 finishing second to Coppin State. 

On the men’s side Travis Taltoan finished third in the 55 meters in a time of 6.72.  James Vallery posted a 51.54 in the 400 meters.  It was good enough for third place.  Darius Reeves placed third in the 55 meter hurdles in a time of 8.17.  The 4 X 200 relay squad of Taltoan, Jason Kindell, William Richardson, and Darnell Hinson took home third place in a time of 1:37.21.  The 4 X 400 relay of Vallery, Derrick Davis, Paul Gwen and Jonathon Soussa placed second in a time of 3:36.17.  Joe Winn placed fourth in the shot with a mark of 41-03.75.
