March 8….Two Cheyney University student athletes were among the four Cheyney students selected as interns for Pepsi Cola.  David Irizarry (football) and Saquita Knight (tennis) work in the community promoting Pepsi products through marketing strategies and on campus activities. 

Students were chosen from over a hundred candidates.  Individuals had to write a letter and submit a resume as well as go through an interview to be considered for internship.  The students will assist in the on campus promotion of new products.  They will spread the word through taste tasting station at campus and community events in and around campus.  “As a football player I thought we could host an event around our spring game,” commented Irizary.  “I’m very familiar with Pepsi, they are everywhere on campus.”  Irizar ry, a native of Allentown, PA, is finishing his freshman year.  “I love the idea of Pepsi Throwback.  It’s made with natural sugars and is currently being rolled out in several markets.”

Within the family Pepsi Brands are Pepsi (Aquafina, Mountain Dew, Sierra Mist, Sobe) Gatorade (including Propel), Tropicana, Quaker Oats and Frito Lays.
