July 13…..Stephanie Orji has been named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women’s Track Team.  Orji joins nine other female student athletes who excel on the track as well as in the class room.  The team was selected by the 28 area Sports Information Directors.  Candidates must possess a minimum of a 3.25 GPA and have significant achievements in their particular sport.

Orji won the triple jump at the PSAC Championships this spring and placed 12th in the country.  It was the second straight year that the native Philadelphian qualified for the D II Nationals.  Orji was a two sport athlete at Cheyney competing on the track and on the hardwood as a member of the women’s basketball team.  She also earned the prestigious Presidents Award as the female student athlete with the highest grade point average.  He was also recognized as a PSAC Scholar Athlete and a member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. 

Orji, graduated in May with a 3.77 gpa in Recreation and Leisure Management and will be attending grad school at West Chester studying Sorts Administration.
