January 7…….The Cheyney University Football team participated in a community service mentoring program at Frederick Douglass Stubbs Intermediate School in Wilmington, Delaware. The program consisted of tutoring and mentoring male youth 10-13 years of age. The mentoring sessions were an hour and half in length and took place on Wednesday, December 2 and Wednesday, December 9.

Coach Braxton was quoted, “It is always a blessing to be able to give back to our community, especially when it concerns setting a positive role model for our young men of tomorrow,” stated head football coach Jeff Braxton. “The ability to mentor to the youth of today is a humbling and positive experience that I will always remember,” stated junior defensive lineman Ben Thompson. The Cheyney University Football Team plans to return in the Spring to continue their mentoring efforts at Frederick Douglass Stubbs Intermediate School.
