He is the first Cheyney student-athlete to participate in the Junior Nationals in at least the past decade.

“This is a great opportunity for Dwayne,” commented rookie head coach James Williams. “I know he will do Cheyney University proud.  We are very proud of him and look forward to more things to come from Dwayne Hyman.”

During the outdoor season, Hyman also posted an impressive 22.11 in the 200 meters at the University of Pennsylvania Invitational.   Hyman is also coming off a sensational indoor season that saw the freshman post a 22.62 in the 200 m at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York.  It was the ninth best time posted by any PSAC athlete during the indoor season.  At the Indoor CTC, Hyman posted a 50.12 in the 400 m. the tenth fastest time of the season and top mark of any freshman in the PSAC.
